A boater’s paradise with virgin bays, pebbled beaches, turquoise waters and lush vegetation, the Ionian islands will steal your heart away. During the summer months the mild Maistros wind blows softly through the Ionian islands making them ideal for smooth sailings.
Steeped in history and mythology, the Ionian islands are said to have derived their name from “Io”, one of Zeus’ mortal lovers who swam across the sea. Each island with its own story to tell but all sharing Italian influences from the Venetian occupation, evident in their unique architecture, culture, and cuisine. Mesmerizing, dazzling and unforgettable are some of the words that have been used by travelers to describe the islands.
Offering the perfect alternative to the equally beautiful Cycladic islands, this route is an all-time favorite with Greek yacht owners in the know.
